KANE lays Mysterio flat in mid-air!
Despite a tremendous effort by the new Intercontinental Champion Rey Mysterio,
The Big Red Machine endured the 619 to reign supreme over the masked Superstar
with the devastating chokeslam. Here's how it went down:
At the start, JR noted the past run-ins between Kane and Rey. A few kicks from Mysterio early on didn’t faze
the big man and he pounded away on Rey with kicks and punches. Rey kicked out of
a chin-lock, but couldn’t capitalize. Rey took out Kane’s knee, landing him on the ropes, but couldn’t hit
the 619. Kane tried a chokeslam, but Rey countered out. Kane threw him into the turnbuckle corner
and did some damage there as the show went to break.
Kane was still in control out of break. A hard whip into the turnbuckle by Kane and
Rey took a powder on the outside. Kane climbed out after his prey, picked Rey up and slammed his back against the ring post.
Mysterio barely made it in before the ten count. Another comeback attempt by Rey fell
short when Kane elbowed him down. After escaping a back-breaker, Rey hit a
springboard seated senton. After a near-fall, he landed a seated dropkick for
two. Rey went to the top, but Kane met him with an uppercut on the way down. Rey
avoided a chokeslam and after an enziguiri, hit the 619. He tried a springboard
hurricanrana, but got caught up in a monstrous vise grip. Kane chokeslammed Rey then took the win.
Kane looked to be leaving the ring, got a pensive look on his face and turn to saunter back over to Rey, who was still on the mat.
Kane took his time manhandling Mysterio - I truly thought he was going to unmask the poor guy - before setting up for another chokeslam,
only to be stopped by music heralding the entrance of The Great Khali – who Kane attacked and cost
a match against Dolph Ziggler at The Bash. Khali stormed to the ring with a steel chair in hand and ire in
his stride. Kane let go of Rey,
backing toward the ropes as the giant entered the ring - it looked like Kane was trying to reason with him. As Khali advanced, Kane
slipped down from the ring and out through the crowd before Khali could use the chair! [photos] [watch]

KANE leaves Dolf to finish up after his devastating return at The Bash
At the Bash, Ziggler must have sensed he was competing in the most important match of his young career against The Punjabi Giant.
As the match got underway, it appeared that Ziggler had bitten off more than he could chew. So he introduced an equalizer - the steel chair.
Still, that didn't seem to help - much - as Khali slapped the tool away from Dolf and
proceeded to trounce the up-and-coming-superstar.
But then, a blast from Hell's furnace and the haunting strains of a familiar theme stopped both men in their tracks! In the midst of the
fiery hues
emerged Kane [YEAAAAAA!!], come to pay a surprise visit and help take a bite out of the 7-foot, 3-inch tower of power. As the two
men watched,
momentarily paralyzed, The Big Red Monster made his way to the ring. Dolf came to action first and took advantage by pummel Khali with a steel,
chair. The blows felled the Punjabi grappler, leaving him susceptible in the center of the canvas. As Kane climbed into the ring, Ziggler
dropped the chair and to the outside of the ring where he could watch and, presumably, stay out of harms way. Better to see two giants collide
than be in between them, eh!
Kane and Khali clashed ring center before Kane took up the discard steel and lammed Khali with it twice, sending him to the mat. Kane continued
to unload on the writhing Khali with the chair then calmly exited the ring to head up the ramp to the back. In Kane’s wake, Ziggler seized the opportunity, quickly pinning his opponent
for one of the night’s biggest upsets. [photos]

The big red machine 17 June 2009 As lights dim, fire erupts around the stage, fans cheer to crashing music and one of the biggest superstars in wrestling makes his grand entry.
Originally known as Glenn Jacobs, Kane made his debut in the ring as Dr Isaac Yankem, a dentist who liked to cause pain to his opponents in the ring. He later took over as Fake Diesel, a gimmick earlier portrayed by Kevin Nash, a former wrestler. After a hiatus, in the late nineties, Jacobs re-emerged as Kane, the younger half-brother of The Undertaker and went on to become the superstar that he is today in the world of wrestling. 14 June 2009 One look at this seven foot and over 300 pound man is enough to justify his title — the big red machine. Kane, the WWE superstar, was in the Capital recently to promote his own sport — WWE. The sport that is already a hit amongst Indians reaches almost 45 million households in Asia. “India is one of the fastest growing markets for WWE. With the help of Ten Sports we have already reached 45 million households and are aiming to further increasing this number. Every six months one player visits India for further promoting it,” Kane said when SundayET caught up with [him] for a chat [over a] cup of coffee. This is his third visit to India and every time he is here, he cannot stop wondering about the rich Indian history. “In US if a building is 150 years old, it’s considered history. In India, history is in the real sense of the word. Indian history and culture is very intriguing,” he says. His earlier trips to India included visits to Bangalore and Kolkata. During this trip he made it a point to visit India Gate and also did a quick trip to the Taj Mahal. [more . . .]

Akki meets his match in Kane 12 June 2009 Bollywood’s khiladi No. 1 Akshay Kumar met a bigger khiladi — in size, at least — in his Mumbai home yesterday morning.
Kane turned up in jeans and a white shirt, looking most unlike The Big Red Monster he is in the wrestling arena. Only his size, 323 pounds, and imposing height, 7 feet, set him apart. Akshay wore a long-sleeved T-shirt. “I told him to cover up because he’d never be able to compete with Kane,” said wife Twinkle. Akki later changed into jeans and a white shirt, too, so they would be perfectly matched. Incidentally, they are both 42. Kane was born in April 1967. Akshay was born in September. Plus, they share a liking for Jackie Chan. [more . . .] |

There are no shortcuts to success, says Kane 11 June 2009 MUMBAI: One has seen hard core wrestlers; one has seen these wrestlers turn entertainers and the picture frame was complete when on Thursday one's saw in flesh and blood the hard core entertainer-wrestler, Kane, from WWE. Kane, called the 'The Big Red Machine', is on a promotional tour in the country for Ten Sports. He is a former WWE champion, two-time Intercontinental champ and nine-time World Tag Champ and Hardcore champion. Kane told the media, "There are no shortcuts to success. To be a successful wrestler one should avoid taking shortcuts and go through conventional channels. I have always told people to go the right way, better to get trained, come through the conventional channels. Many aspiring wrestlers try to make their way by getting into street-style fighting, I don't like that." On the Indian giant in WWE, 'The Great Khali', Kane said,"he's awesome. Much of the popularity of WWE in India is due to him." WWE is labelled as fake wrestling but that doesn't worry Kane who says, "WWE is entertainment. But it's also physical and people underestimate that. We are there to make others smile." That was the bottom line. The wrestler, who once trained to be a teacher but never taught, met Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar, who teamed up with his half-brother The Undertaker in the film, 'Khilaidyon Ka Khiladi. "Even after being a star he (Akshay) still does his own stunts, it's remarkable," Kane said. "The difference is that I drink protein shake and he drinks mango shake," Kane joked. [more . . .]

Kane In India 11 June 2009 Kane believes the WWE is not just confined to sporting action and bitter rivalry amongst wrestling superstars.
The sports star admits that The Undertaker has played a key role in his wrestling success though both of them have locked horns umpteen times on the ring. "As far as my relationship with The Undertaker is concerned he had a great impact on my career. Without him I certainly would not have been where I am today," says the nine-time WWE team champion. WWE Superstar Kane to visit India in June Friday, 05 June 2009 11:50 Arjun Wadhwa
Posted in: thesportscampus.com
One of WWE's biggest Superstars, Kane, will spend a day in Delhi followed by a couple of days in Mumbai this June.
At 7-feet tall and more than 300 pounds, the fifteen-time champion Big Red Monster, who has been tormenting his opponents
in the ring ever since his WWE debut, can't wait to visit Mumbai.
The ‘Big Red Monster' Kane will have a jam-packed schedule speaking to the press, meeting his fans, signing autographs
during an in-store appearance and making a special appearance through the Make a Wish Foundation.
"India is a great country and I'm really looking forward to this visit to Delhi and Mumbai and to meeting some of my
fans" Kane said.
Kane will hit Delhi on 10th June and will be available at the Imperial Hotel, Janpath during the afternoon, followed
by a trip to Mumbai where he will be at Taj Lands End.
KANE: Could return at any time . . .
The Big Red One hasn't been seen in nearly a month - but that doesn't mean he's out of our thoughts. There's
been some speculation on where he is and what he's up to . . . some even fear he's set to leave the wrestling scene
forever (perish the thought!) :( Good Ol' JR puts it best in his latest blog on the subject:
Weekend Update: Sat, 05/23/2009 — J.R.
Posted in: Wrestling.
Here's some feedback to some emails we have received recently:
*
Kane is not AWOL. He is simply has not been appearing on TV lately. He, too,
will return likely before Undertaker or HBK and is being counted on to
contribute to Friday Night SmackDown. Kane is healthy and could return at any
time.
Many raise hell about wrestling having no season, I fully understand their
point, and then when wrestlers take much deserved and needed time off it becomes
a major issue with conspiracy theory implications. Of course these absences
could perhaps be better explained on TV but that's simply not the direction that
has been set forth. (more)
Be sure to read the entire article - JR addresses the issues of UnderTaker, HBK and
others with regard to rumors and retirement plans. I especially liked it when he points
out, ". . .When either man does decide to say adiós there will be a HUGE deal made of it."
Though the comment was made regarding 'Taker and HBK, it could very easily, I'm sure, apply
to KANE.
Rushing home from work on this dark and storm filled day, I desperately wanted to get my KANE fix - it would have been
the perfect culmination of one hellacious week. Alas, there would be no slow chemical for me this night, I quickly found
as I took a peek at a SmackDown! spoiler. So, I turned to my email, and hunkered down to sort through the spam filled mass
to find any "google alerts" on the Big Red Machine. I hit the jackpot not far into my
foray!
Hellfire & Brimstone: A Small Tribute To The Big Red Machine: by
Patrick Hall (Contributor) May 29, 2009.
He's arguably the best "monster" ever to step foot in a wwe ring. To the
world, he is (and always has been) Glen Jacobs, but to us, he is the big red
machine Kane.
Kane was one of the attitude era's brightest stars. His feud with his
storyline brother, The Undertaker was the reason many tuned in. He's been WWF
champion, an ECW champion, an IC champion, hardcore champ, and a multiple time
tag champion.
When I started watching wrestling, Kane instantly became my favorite. The way
he'd slowly walk to the ring, summon fire from the ring posts, and when he'd get
knocked down he'd just sit right up. I'd always wonder what he looked like under
his mask. I didn't know he used to portray Isaac Yankem. He was just the best in
my eyes. (more)
Patrick Hall does a great job of reminising on the fantastic career of KANE. I found myself drifting back in time, and though it was
not the same as watching the Big Guy work his magic in the ring, it struck 'to burn and the old flame' returned :)
As monstrously compelling as the man.
The first-ever WWE Studios release, Kane's "See No Evil" will be released on
Blu-Ray DVD on August 11th, 2009.
Directed by Gregory Dark, written by Dan Madigan, and produced by Joel Simon and
WWE Films, the movie was released by Lions Gate Entertainment to open on May
19th 2006. "See No Evil" earned an estimated $4.35 million in box office sales
for that weekend. The film was sixth in the weekend box office totals. After two
weeks, the movie stood at over $9.8 million. The movie's final domestic gross
stands at $15,032,800 and a worldwide gross of $18,207,596. Amazing, since the
movie only showed in select movie houses.
Released on DVD on November 28, 2006, the DVD would include audio commentary by
writer
Dan Madigan, director
Gregory
Dark, co-executive producer
Jed Blaugrund and
Kane.
The movie eventually went on to make $16.5 million in 8 weeks.
When asked, during an interview, about a second See No Evil film, star Kane
replied, "It's been talked about," but no actual statement from the writers has
been made.
"See No Evil" has had a couple TV runs on the SciFi channel.
