Bad Genes: Is Snitsky really to blame?

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Just over two weeks ago, Gene Snitsky made his RAW debut. It should have been a proud, lasting moment for the newcomer. But when a freak accident occurred, Snitsky was forced to keep that celebration and triumph to himself.

“My RAW debut was like a dream come true,” Snitsky said while backstage at Kemper Arena. “I felt like I had just won the lottery. It was so rewarding to see that all my hard work paid off and that I actually made it, because there are so many wannabe Superstars out there who never get the opportunity to do what I’m doing.”

During the brief encounter with Kane, Snitsky hit the preoccupied Big Red Monster from behind, driving Kane onto Lita. The collision caused the pregnant Lita to be taken from the arena on a stretcher. Last week, it was revealed that Lita lost what was to be the couple’s first-born son.

“I wouldn’t say [the accident] put a damper on things,” a determined Snitsky said. “If anything, I’d say it’s gonna help my career. Like they say, there’s no such thing as bad publicity. So, if this is what it takes to get my name out there and for people to know who Gene Snitsky is, then oh well, that just the way it has to be. I was called up to do a job, and I came in the ring and did what I had to do. Besides, it wasn’t my fault. She shouldn’t even have been in the ring in the first place. The way I see it, it’s pretty much her own fault that all of this happened.”

While some fans have already begun calling Snitsky a “baby killer,” the big, burly blue-chipper has expressed his sympathy and hopes that the fans will eventually forgive him.

“I can’t blame Kane for wanting to fight me,” he continued. “If something like this happened to me, or someone in my family, I’d want to get revenge on them, too. But like I said earlier, she shouldn’t have been in the ring. A wrestling ring is a dangerous place, and accidents do happen. So you just gotta move on, and do what you have to do.”

Despite Snitsky’s continued apologies, Kane sent out a stern warning on RAW, promising to make Snitsky pay for his mistakes. Since Kane is scheduled to make his return to action Monday night Oct. 4 when RAW visits Madison Square Garden, he’s going to have revenge on his mind — something for which the brash young Snitsky is prepared.

“If he still feels that he has to come and try to take me out, then he can come and give me his best shot because I’ll be ready for it. Kane can be overcome.

He’s not too much bigger than me, and I feel that we match up pretty well. He has a lot of size. I have a lot of size. He has a lot of power. I have a lot of power. We are like two big grizzly bears fighting it out in the wilderness to see who can take control.”

Considering the bold statements made by both parties, one could only hope that there is enhanced — Republican Convention-like — security in place in New York City next Monday, because the hostility between Kane and Snitsky is set to take an ugly turn.
